Mr. Warren Meadows and Mr. John Warren show off the sign for the “new” monument business in the early 1950s.

Our History

Sabine Monument Company is a local business that has been serving families for over sixty years. Mr. John Warren established the business in the early 1950s, when he was also the owner of the local funeral home. In the early 1970s, Mr. Warren Meadows purchased the business from Mr. Warren and continued to operate under the name of Sabine Monument Company. In 1976, Mr. Meadows hired Philip Lambert and trained him to design and sandblast monuments.

In 1985, after working for Mr. Meadows for nine years, Philip bought the business. Philip has been operating Sabine Monument Company ever since. In May 2012, Philip’s wife, Nancy, retired from teaching after a 30-year career. This gave her a chance to spend more time in the family business.

We have recently installed equipment which will allow us to use the computer to design monuments. Families will still receive the personalized service for which Sabine Monument Company is known, but we will be able to have shorter wait periods between the time of order and the time of delivery.

From the beginning, Sabine Monument Company has represented quality service with a personal touch. Philip and Nancy are continuing this tradition!
